Congratulations to Assistant Solicitor Sutania A. Fuller for receiving the 2020 John R. Justice Community Leadership Award at the Virtual South Carolina Solicitors’ Association Annual Conference. This award is presented to a prosecutor who has exhibited exemplary citizenship. It recognizes that community involvement and innovative ideas serve to advance public safety and the criminal justice system.
Sutania has distinguished herself not only as a brilliant violent crimes prosecutor handling serious cases throughout the Eleventh Circuit, but as a public servant through her tremendous efforts addressing issues within our community. Sutania serves her community in various capacities and lives a life of service.
Her most notable contribution is found in her work with the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Protecting Our Youth Committee over the years. Sutania is passionate about reaching young adults across the state of South Carolina and educating them about the legal consequences of their actions. She has worked hard to expand the committee’s reach and created the annual Protecting Our Youth day held at different courthouses in the state. Sutania is often heard saying she wants to reach our youth before she has to prosecute them.
Sutania also serves as the ABA Young Lawyers Division Tenth District Representative. She serves as a co-chair for the S.C. Bar Leadership Academy and volunteers her time on the Bar’s Diversity Committee. Sutania is also a recipient of the S.C. Bar YLD President’s Award for three years in a row. She is an extremely active member of the YLD having served on many committees in various leadership roles.
We are extremely proud of Sutania and all of her accomplishments. Congratulations, Sutania!
