Daniel Tyler Huneycutt, age 26, pled guilty to Burglary (Non-Violent) Second Degree and Grand Larceny in Saluda County this week and was sentenced to a combined 12 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections followed by 5 years of probation. Circuit Court Judge William P. Keesley sentenced Huneycutt to this consecutive sentence.
Assistant Solicitor Robby McNair handled the prosecution of this case and the Saluda County Sheriff's Office conducted the investigation.
Last year, Huneycutt forced entry into a home stealing a television along with several firearms. Huneycutt broke a large coin jar during the burglary and left blood behind. Law enforcement collected swabs of the blood and sent them to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, commonly known as SLED, for forensic testing. SLED was able to match the blood to the DNA profile of Huneycutt.
Huneycutt has prior burglary, drug, and weapon convictions.
