Today, at the Annual Solicitors’ Association of South Carolina 2019 Solicitors’ Conference, Assistant Solicitor Melanie Darko was recognized as a recipient of the Solicitor John R. Justice Prosecutor Scholarship.  

Melanie was nominated by Solicitor Hubbard for this award and one of only two assistant solicitors in the State to receive this award this year.  

Melanie is a hardworking prosecutor who has been with our office for over three years and is a proven leader. She currently manages our trial court docket, which often requires her to assist other prosecutors with the trial of their cases. She is also a part of our drug prosecution team and violent crime team. Melanie is also involved with the community. 

To be nominated for this award, an assistant solicitor must have a minimum of three years of experience as an assistant solicitor, show dedication to the field of prosecution, leadership, and have a commitment to the community.
