Fourth of July Campaign

Thu, 07/02/2026

We love to celebrate the 4th of July with family, friends, food, and fireworks. And yet, all too often, the festivities turn tragic on our nation's roads. This American holiday is also one of the deadliest holidays of the year due to drunk-driving crashes.

Fourth of July Stats

·        In 2024 alone, there were 579 people killed in traffic crashes during the Fourth of July holiday period.

·        Of the drivers involved in impaired driving fatal collisions during the year 2024, 22% of males were drunk compared to 16% of females.

·        38% (654) of those drivers were drunk. Of the 1,724 drivers killed, the 21-34 age group had the highest percentage (47%) of drunk drivers.
