The Eleventh Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office has been awarded a DUI grant to fund activity hours for assistant solicitors to exclusively prosecute DUI-related cases in both General Sessions and summary courts in Edgefield, Lexington, McCormick, and Saluda counties. In a team effort, the Solicitor’s Office will collaborate with law enforcement, judges, defense attorneys and others to develop a more efficient process in adjudicating DUI-related cases, thus reducing DUI-related case backlog and obtaining justice on every DUI-related case. The DUI grant is funded through the South Carolina Department of Public Safety Office of Highway Safety and Justice Programs, with funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The awarded DUI grant period is October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025.
