West Columbia man received a 17 year sentence today in the County of Lexington

Jacob Hembree, age 20, pled guilty to Armed Robbery today and received a 17 year sentence. He also pled guilty to Assault and Battery - First Degree and received a 10 year sentence. Hembree was sentenced by Chief Administrative Judge Frank R. Addy, Jr. Armed Robbery is classified as a “no parole” offense under South Carolina law.

Senior Assistant Solicitor Angela Garrick Martin handled the prosecution of this case for our office.

In September of 2017, while at the Riverbend apartments, Hembree robbed a Dominos pizza delivery person of pizza and petty cash after threatening her at gunpoint. During this same time period, Hembree assaulted a clerk with a handgun during a robbery at a Circle K in West Columbia.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the West Columbia Police Department worked together to quickly solve these cases. Hembree has a prior criminal record.
