Jeffery Curry-Prescott, age 27, has been sentenced to 10 years incarceration for the burglary of a home in the New Friarsgate area of Irmo in Lexington County.  Curry-Prescott pled guilty this week in Lexington County General Sessions Court to the crime of Burglary – Second Degree (violent), which occurred on May 27, 2018.

This case was prosecuted by Deputy Solicitor Suzanne Mayes and Assistant Solicitor Luke Pincelli. The investigation was conducted by Inv. Kelly Mountzouros of the Irmo Police Department.

Curry-Prescott, along with a co-defendant, gained entry into the home by removing an air conditioning unit from a window during nighttime hours. The resident was not home at the time of the burglary.

Curry-Prescott stole an assault rifle from the home and a drum round magazine containing ammunition. Also taken during the burglary were keys to the victim’s 2011 Hyundai Sonata, which was stolen from the driveway. The vehicle was later recovered by the S.C. Highway Patrol on June 11, 2018 after it was found abandoned on a ramp at I-20.

Curry-Prescott was identified by surveillance video from inside the residence. The video depicted Curry-Prescott rummaging through the home at approximately 2:15 am. Officers with the Midlands Gang Task Force were able to make a positive identification of Curry-Prescott due to his unique neck tattoo and physical appearance.

Curry-Prescott had prior convictions for accessory to a felony and entering a premises after warning.
