Congratulations to Constance “Connie” Shockley Garner for winning Employee of the Second Quarter for the County of Lexington. Connie is one of our Pretrial Intervention (PTI) case managers at the Solicitor’s Office and has been with the County of Lexington for 28 years.
PTI is a diversion program that affords first time, nonviolent offenders an opportunity to keep their criminal records clean. During the program, each participant must complete certain requirements often including community service, counseling, and drug testing. A person is eligible for an expungement upon successful completion of the program. Connie is extremely dedicated to working with each participant on a path to a second chance. Her work has assisted thousands of individuals over the years and she often receives thank you notes from individuals she has helped.
Connie has served on the South Carolina Association of Pretrial Intervention Programs board, serves as an advocate for the PTI program, and has spoken to newly hired attorneys and newly-appointed judges regarding the importance of the PTI program. Connie is a model representative of what we pride ourselves in as public servants. We are extremely proud of her.
