Repeat Domestic Abuser received an active prison sentence in Lexington County

Thu, 12/07/2017

Repeat Domestic Abuser, Kevin Lee Fuller, pled guilty as charged to Domestic Violence in the First Degree today in Lexington County. Judge Grace Knie sentenced Fuller to 5 years in prison. His active prison sentence will be followed by 2 years of probation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Kate Usry and investigated by the West Columbia Police Department.

On November 13, 2016, Fuller assaulted his live-in girlfriend by pulling her hair and striking her about the face while verbally threatening to kill her. She was able to escape to a neighbor’s home and call 911 during which time Fuller stole her car and fled the scene.

This case was charged as a felony because Fuller has two prior Domestic Violence convictions within the past ten years and because there was an active order in place prohibiting Fuller from contacting the victim. This assault occurred six weeks after his release from prison for a Domestic Violence conviction for choking the same victim until she passed out.

The Judge ordered a Permanent Restraining Order prohibiting Fuller from contacting the victim in the future. This order is different from the previous no contact provision as it results in active punishment should a violation occur. #EndDV
