Home Burglar sentenced to 10 Years in Lexington County

Bryan William Smoak, age 35, has been sentenced to 10 years of incarceration for the burglary of a home on Delree Street in Lexington County. Smoak entered during daylight hours by use of a crow bar on a door while the homeowners were at work. Smoak stole electronics, jewelry, and cash. A witness observed the burglary and contacted law enforcement. Smoak was apprehended a short distance away.

This case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant Solicitor Angela Garrick Martin and investigated by Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

Smoak pled guilty to Burglary - 2nd degree (violent) and was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge William P. Keesley. Smoak had a lengthy criminal record.
