The trial of State v. Jamie L. Stroman took place this week in Lexington County General Sessions Court. Stroman, age 38 was found guilty of two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – 1st degree and sentenced to thirty five (35) years of incarceration by Judge Robert E. Hood following the jury’s verdict of guilty Thursday, March 30, 2017.
The Lexington Police Department began an investigation on June 4, 2014, when the victim disclosed long term sexual abuse by Stroman. The victim was assaulted in Lexington County during 2013 and 2014 while she was under the age of eleven. The victim, now age 11, testified during the trial regarding numerous sexual assaults committed against her by Stroman. During the sentencing hearing, the victim thanked the judge.
The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant Solicitor Rhonda Patterson and Assistant Solicitor Bradley Pogue of the Eleventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office. “We are grateful to Detective Chris Ellisor and the entire Lexington Police Department for their commitment to this case. Their hard work investigating this case made it possible for this victim to receive justice.”
